Jackson-Bell Model 84 - With Eyebrow
The Peter Pan Model 84 was first introduced in May of 1931. The Radio was very popular and widely distributed. The basic design was use on other house-branded radios.
In early 1932 Jackson-Bell introduced a new cabinet design, with additional decorations (here identified as an “Eyebrow”).
The front decorations de-emphasis Peter Pan. Compare to the previous model to see the contrast.
The basic cabinet is similar to the original template with significant differences in the look. Instead of The radio being cute and stylized, it now looks more like other radios, just smaller.
The grille work is a well-defined clothed Peter Pan”. The dial has an escutcheon. The base molding is simple, with a dropped skirt in the Front.
The Model 84 Chassis was the same, with the aluminum edge-lighted Dial.
