Jackson-Bell Model 24
The Model 24 chassis is a midget superheterodyne. The unusual design has an Autodyne Frequency Changer, with a detector. There is no I.F. amplifier.
There are at least four chassis variations. All known chassis versions have a tone control. The last chassis versions had a short wave (police band) switch.
Performance is decent, adequate for local stations, using a short antenna. The translucent, back lighted dial is calibrated from 0 to 100. The Jackson-Bell branded versions made this feature, Jackson-Bell cabinets included a logging card drawer.
A link to the "Jackson-Bell Goes Small In A Big Way" article from the Spring/Summer issue of the SCARS Gazette appears below. The text goes into great detail about this set and the rest of Jackson-Bell's midget line-up.
Jackson-Bell Model 24, Peter Pan Cabinet:
This cabinet has a logging card drawer. The faux wood burl finish give the impression of an expensive cbinet.
